We were able to help the Sri Lankan community after the Tsunami by helping the public hospitals. Our donation helped to provide medical equipment and supplies to outlying areas. Sri Lanka produces good doctors, but they cannot practice in hospitals simply because they lack basic equipment and resources necessary to do the job. Our donation was used to send two containers of medical equipment to Sri Lanka in the past year. AUSLMAT has gone to Sri Lanka on more than 15 occasions with container loads of shipments focusing on uplifting standards of health care.

A Letter from Australia Sri Lanka Medical Aid Team to Creflo Dollar Global Missions

Dear Arlene,

I write on behalf of the Australia Sri Lanka Medical Aid Team to ask for your support of our activities in Sri Lnka. We are grateful for the donation you made last year and have used that money to send two containers of medical equipment to Sri Lanka in the past year. Our visits also involve capacity building in these dstrict hospitals.

You would have received emails about our activities on the last trip in June this year. I enclose more photographs of the work we did in distributing medical equipment to impoverished hospitals still trying to recover from the effects of the Asian tsunami of 2004.

Our work also involved visits to two homes and two small dispensaries that struggle to survive in a harsh environment. Our work at St. Gabriel's Childrens Home in Hatton was particularly rewarding. Thirty-four girls are looked after admirably by dedicated staff. We had a fundraiser for them in September and the support we received in Melbourne was overwhelming.

I trust CDM ministries will continue to support the work AUSLMAT does and look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Quintus de Zylva, Secretary AuSLMAT
