We partnered with the school where our church is located, Benjamin Banneker Charter Academy (BBCAT) and they did their back to school registration on the same day.  The school was blessed because of our event. They reported they were able to register more children than they have done in the past 5 years on a single day. We also partnered with Impact (a service that works with abused and neglected children), as well as AdHoc Against Crime. There was a severe weather and flood warning in our area all weekend with heavy rain, but we nearly doubled the number of people this year. Each year is bigger and better, Praise God. This year we had more than 500 children and parents. We used Eventbrite to allow parents to register for the backpacks and because of this we had families from all nationalities and communities. We did a Community survey (5 questions - this year on the needs in the community). We used iPads and cell phones to collect the information so that we are able to prepare reports and follow up immediately.  We passed out church flyers, several families called about the services, and one of the superintendents from the school attended service on Sunday. The school director expressed her gratitude and appreciation, stating that she has never known a church that does and cares so much for the community.  It was a great success and we did make a mark in our community that will not be erased.
